Anderson Lock locks appeared in popular movies in 1980, 1985, 1986, 1998 and again in 2008.<\/h4>\n

The recent death of Chicago’s renown movie critic, Roger Ebert, reminded me of all the popular films that have an Anderson Lock connection. There have been others that were not as successful or memorable, but the five films noted here are classics, frequently seen on TV. Next time one of them is shown, check out the security hardware in the backgrounds!<\/p>\n

Master Lock locker locks were purchased for use in My Bodyguard<\/strong><\/em> which was filmed in Chicago’s historic Lakeview High School.<\/p>\n

Door closers, exit devices, locker locks and other security hardware was purchased and installed at Maine North High School in Des Plaines, Illinois, for The Breakfast Club<\/em><\/strong>. Maine North High School was closed in 1981 before Writer\/ Producer \/ Director John Hughes stepped in and used it as a filming location. The same school was used for some of the school-based scenes in Hughes’s Ferris Bueller’s Day Off<\/em>, <\/strong>which was released just a year later.

U.S. Marshals, 1998<\/p><\/div>\n

Locks on a Chicago cemetery shed were removed, replaced, and reinstalled for the classic U.S. Marshals<\/strong><\/em> movie starring Tommy Lee Jones.<\/p>\n

The Dark Knight, 2008<\/p><\/div>\n

And, more recently, Anderson Lock installers removed a pair of doors near Lower Wacker Drive for the Batman movie, The Dark Knight,<\/strong><\/em> released in 2008. The technicians returned a week or so later to reinstall the same doors. In the movie, the Batman’s motorcycle crashes through fake glass doors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
